Detailed Copper Wire Mesh Categories & Parameters for Your Reference

Boegger Industech Ltd. is a professional manufacturer of copper wire mesh. Since its establishment in 2000, our company has played an important role in the field of wire mesh. In order to improve the satisfaction of you and your clients, we have been committed to developing higher quality woven copper mesh.

Why Choose Us?

For the production of copper wire mesh, Boegger has now upgraded its weaving equipment to advanced computer numerical control technology, with a higher level of process control, more consistent quality, and greater output. Our copper wire mesh has high electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance to rust. Its soft performance makes it very easy to handle, demonstrating excellent performance in shielding EMI, RFI, RF, EMC, etc., and the advantages of sustainable recyclable materials.

Our copper wire mesh is available in three different weaves – plain, twill, and Dutch, and we keep a good stock of standard sizes. Our riser sizes are 1/1.2 m wide and 30 m long. We support the customization of wire diameter, mesh size, and roll diameter, and the minimum order quantity for mesh is 150 m.

Copper Wire Mesh Shielding Performance

A chart shows different shielding effectiveness of copper wire mesh with different aperture.

Different mesh counts shielding effectiveness line graph

According to the line graph, with the gradual increase of the electromagnetic rate, the higher the mesh number, the better the shielding effectiveness of the copper mesh. To verify whether copper mesh with different mesh counts can meet the expected shielding effectiveness, we provide you with the copper mesh shielding effectiveness calculator. This calculator can help you accurately calculate the shielding effectiveness of copper mesh. This helps optimize the choice of copper mesh, including gauge, thickness, and layout.

FAQs

Copper wire mesh uses copper wire (containing more than 99.95% copper, generally called pure copper). Weaved using a plain weaving method, the surface of the high-quality copper wire mesh does not have any mesh defects. The high mesh count copper wire mesh looks like a piece of delicate silk from a distance, without a single flaw.

EMI radiation shielding is the act of preventing harmful radiation from harming humans and various objects through the use of shielding agents such as lead, concrete, woven wire, etc.

Copper wire mesh is particularly effective for EMI radiation shielding because it reflects and absorbs EMI energy. For this reason, copper wire mesh is often used for radiation shielding in a variety of electronic and communications equipment. This is because, in terms of EMI radiation wavelengths, the openings in the copper wire mesh are usually woven to a much smaller size than these waves, which causes the radiation waves to reflect off the mesh surface. In other words, copper wire mesh blocks our electronic and communication devices, protecting them from potentially harmful EMI energy.

When these EMI waves come into contact with the mesh surface, some of the EMI energy is converted into heat. This heat is absorbed into the wires and dispersed throughout the fabric. In addition, EMI waves are scattered when they come into contact with the braided wire shielding, which means that the strength of the EMI energy bouncing off or through the mesh is reduced. As a result, copper wire mesh provides highly effective EMI radiation shielding to protect the surrounding environment and equipment.

The answer is YES. Our skilled employees have been in this field for over 10 years. They are very capable of making custom wire mesh according to your special requirements.

Of course! We are glad to provide samples to you or your clients. You will find that our products are genuine at fair prices.

For fine copper mesh, it can be cut by scissors; if for coarse copper mesh, wire diameter thicker than 1 mm, we suggest to use shearing machine.

For fine copper mesh, you can use double sides adhesive tape, traceless adhesive tape, and conductive tape to connect the copper wire mesh together. For medium and coarse copper mesh, you can use silver soldering.

  • Step 1: Wrap the copper wire mesh on a tube core.
  • Step 2: Use plastic bubble film or carton paper to protect the mesh surface.
  • Step 3: Put the mesh into a PVC tube if it is fine mesh.
  • Step 4: Put some layers of plastic bubble film into the plywood case first, for damp-proof and anti-collision.
  • Step 5: Put the copper wire mesh into the plywood case.
  • Step 6: Fix the case by strapping and protect the case corners by steel plates.
Note: If it is a heavy coarse mesh that can not be rolled, the mesh will be cut into sheets, protected by carton paper, then loaded on steel or wooden pallets, and finally covered by a plywood case.

After finishing the production, and before the delivery, we will use the handheld spectrum tester to test the copper wire mesh chemical compositions, then work out a material test certificate to get the client's approval of dispatch. The raw material supplier's MTC is also available.
